Raising Money for
MRF‘s For Our Children special initiative raises money to increase understanding and improve treatments of childhood migraine.
About 10% of school-age children suffer from migraine, and half of all sufferers have their first attack before age 12. Few of the adult therapies have been tested or approved for children. But children are not are not little adults. We need to ensure that what we give our children is safe and effective and addresses their symptoms and needs.
Research on childhood migraine is minimal. Information is lacking for sufferers, parents, teachers and medical professionals.
As part of our efforts to help childhood sufferers, we maintain the only list of children’s headache doctors in the U.S. so that parents can find expert help for their children.
Childhood migraine is a special focus of our research program. We encourage investigators to submit proposals in this area.
