A family rallied around loss and pain
Many branches of the Sterne family are affected by migraine, both men and women. By the time they reached out to us, they’d already lost 2 relatives to chronic migraine headaches.
The family launched a fundraiser in loving memory of one family member and raised over $7,000. Not wanting to stop there, two other members went on to run the San Jose Rock ‘n Roll Half Marathon, continuing to fundraise on behalf of MRF, raising awareness and money to find a cure.
And that still wasn’t the end! Martha gained entry into the world famous TCS New York City Marathon and signed up to join Team MRF and raise money for migraine research. She raised an additional $1,500 for migraine research while running the world’s most popular marathon.
The Sternes, and too many families like them, have turned their personal tragedies into inspirational actions. We’re very grateful for the support, but so sorry for the reasons behind it. We hope that with their help and the help of others like them, we’ll one day no longer have to tell these stories.
